“Hi-5 is an Australian children’s musical group formed in 1998 which is associated with the children’s television series of the same name.” *
For me Hi-5 is a special job, I quite simply get to do what I love. I have the honour of working with very special charities…
The Starlight Children’s Foundation, World Vision and many others.
I get the honour of being able to teach children all over the world through my Hi-5 segment ‘Making Music’ how to find a love for music, and I get the oppertunity to make a child’s day just by walking into the room, that’s special.

The people in Hi-5 who are most special to me are of course my awesome cast mates… Lauren Brant, Casey Burgess, Fely Irvine and Stevie Nicholson, these four people rock.

What is best part of being in Hi-5?
That’s easy, it’s the children. On tour, the best part of the day is performing for them. The children no-matter which country or state or town are always so excited to see us and share in all the fun we have. It reminds you of how special it is to be doing this job every day. I am very fortunate.
What is your all time Favourite Boy’s/Girl’s Name?
I like the name Wiremu. Pronounced Wid-eh-mu. It is Maori for William. Every Wiremu I have met has been a great guy. Like it or not that always affects your decision when choosing names.
What are you most proud of?
I am proud of being affiliated with amazing Charities. Stevie, Casey, Lauren, Fely and I are all Ambassadors for World Vision Australia, The Starlight Foundation and The Premier’s Reading Challenge.
With the help of them we can make a difference to many children from all over the world.
What is life like outside of Hi-5?
Anything outdoors, I love it. I Sail, Kayak, Run, Camp, Hike, Fly RC Planes, Cycle.
Anything to do with the Arts, I love that also. I’m talking Music, Drama, Dance, Massive Productions, Tiny Productions.
I was very fortunate to grow up in an area in New Zealand called Blenheim. It is a small town that I feel shaped the way I live my life today, Blenheim is surrounded by beautiful things. For example The Marlborough Sounds, Wairau River, The Wither Hills it is all there. So I spent the most of my childhood exploring and enjoying the land that I was living in.
But also the town had and still has a very strong Arts Community. So I grew up learning about Music, Drama and always at Musical Rehearsals, both my own and my families/friends, and then finding things to do around the stunning countryside. Be it Sailing, Hiking, Mountain Biking or even Soap Box Racing.
Even though I have left Blenheim now I still live my life this way. When I can I am always finding adventure outdoors and when it comes to anything in the Arts it is my passion.

I’m Back…. I will not be online tomorrow because I have to study… because we will have a quiz every friday… but I’m gonna be online on friday night… the First Day of school is really busy but we keep laughing… We got I little bit nervous of introducing ourselves in class because we thought that our teachers is very strict… but when I talked to my teachers they are all kind and very patient to us… today was a very busy but happy day for me… I’m so glad to be busy with many things again…

Five days from now, I will be celebrating my birthday. Actually, it’s my 17th birthday; however, a friend told me that growing old is mandatory but growing up is optional. I know that 8th of August is a special date for you because it is the day you will run the City2Surf race for Matthew. It is also a special day for me because a person close to me will celebrate her birthday. My cousin Isabelle will turn 8 on the 8th of August(She will be 8 on 8/8!). Isabelle is a fan of the Hi-5 band and of the imaginary Tim-Lauren love team. During the summer vacation, we never missed any episode of Hi-5. She even asked me to write all of Series 11′s SOTW so that she can memorize it. She also contracted her mom to bring her to Hi-5′s mall tour when you come here in the Philippines this September(By the way, she was so delighted to know that you will be here this September). She is a very sweet girl. I want her to be very happy on her birthday. I cannot give her any gift because I don’t have the money to buy her any. So, if you can and like, I want you to send me a video of you and the rest of the Hi-5 band greeting Isabelle a happy birthday. I think it will make her absolutely happy. She will never forget it.

I just wanted to write and thank you, and all of Hi-5, for providing me with regular peace and quiet. My 19 month old is absolutely obsessed with you all and stands in front of the TV waving her ‘Hi-5′ hand the moment the channel is changed. We saw you live in April and I suspect I have seen the Hi-5 Surprise DVD over 100 times… I am currently 5 months pregnant and the baby kicks and jumps all over the place when you guys sing… I would be lying if I didnt ocassionally wish I could watch some adult tv, but am genuinely grateful for the joy you give my daughter. Keep the good work up because my DVD is scratched and loved and worn and I suspect I may need you for a while longer!!

Congratulations on finishing the City2Surf Race!!..I know you were so sore after the race but I know that was all gone after seeing Matthew at the finish line smiling at job well done..I know you’re all finish filming and recording for Series 12..And you now what, you and the other Hi-5ers deserve a very nice break..You’ll be back working after a month or so so you should have your minds and bodies rested for your Southeast Asian tour..I’ll be looking forward to see you and the rest of the gang here in the Philippines..
Can I ask you a piece of advice??..You know that I’m already in college (but I think I’m an eight year old trapped in a seventeen year old body) and unfortunately, I’m having a dilemma..I’m currently taking up communication arts in the finest University System in the country (the University of the Philippines)..The dilemma is that I don’t see myself progressing in this course which is in contrary when I was still in high school..I really liked honing my speaking, acting and writing skills but I don’t see myself advancing with the course I’m currently taking ..I am thinking that I can do better in life if will take up civil engineering or something that is science-related; however, I really don’t like this courses since I knew how to speak in English..Now, my question is, if you were me, will you follow your heart and stick to your first choice or be radical and practical and choose something that you know will take you much better in life??..

Now I have some advice for the RJ. In fact, it’s more a question than a advice. Ask yourself, do you see in the future working with this? Remember, this will be his career for the rest of your life. If you are not identifying with the course now, may be that, going forward, you’ll like it even less. This has happened to me. Sometimes we have to take a drastic decision, and it never pleases people close to us. But you’re still young, you’ll find your way. I hope I’ve helped, and sorry for the intrusion on the question.
RJ, did you read Heloise’s comment? I think she was quite articulate in her advice for you. I am far away so please remember with my comment to take it only with a grain of salt. I am of the belief that you can only really bank on this life we have now, there may be others, but for now this is the only one I know that this one is a certainty. So, I am of the belief that your life is your own so do what you want to do. A quote that I always remember is ‘Passion mothers greatness.’
What you are most passionate about is the best place to start. However, if the course is your passion and you are only wanting to change as you don’t see yourself progressing well that is different, that is giving up. I never give up on anything, there have and still are numerous times when I think and am told that I am not good enough, but because I never gave up and changed course that is why I am where I am today.
Follow what your are passionate about and work very hard at it and that is all you need to do to be successful.

Nose and be in the U.S., but here in Argentina there are many children in the street, instead of enjoying their childhood are asking for or stealing. On Friday 20/8/2010 at night went to a party in the style of the 80s (my time) to listen and dance songs that reminded me so cute equella season where I was in the prime of life. was a night to dance, sing and shout . I had fun. ran through my mind so many memories with every song. feet hurt a lot. hahaha. the show was with three Minitecas ZC, Betelgeuse and Sandy Lane. Mixed with acetate discs …. you know, black dishes … lol had long without seeing one of these Disco. It was a spectacle of lights and music of yesterday, groups of kids (and not so young) danced Break Dance. I wanted to share it with you and your readers because I am happy, though I think no one here is of those times .. From what I know the name Maddren evolved from Madron. There is a town in Cornwall titled that, from my understanding that’s where it has come from. But then again I could be wrong, Madden is too close to not be similar in its evolution. Let me know if you find anything in the future. Tim

My daughter is 11 months old and is very musical and I was desperate for something on TV that would catch her attention and get her entertained. Here in Brazil we have Hi5 on Discovery Kids and I have to say, she was very happy when she first watched Hi5 and it was quite a surprise for me to see how hooked up she got to the program. She loves it! She actually tries to sing the songs and it’s very nice to see it. Congratulations on the good job! Finally she has something great to watch and learn!
