Literature is something that is very important to many members of my family, so this has washed off on me. I read a book the other day that was written by a member of my family in 1877. I found this incredible as I was able to hear my ancestors voice, his opinions and learn about a small section of his life. There are not many mediums of communication that enable this to happen.

Since I was very young, four years old I think, I have walked with many members of my family into a beautiful valley just out of Wellington New Zealand called the Orongoronga Valley. It is a stunning part of the world, and recently even more so, as a lot of Possums have been ‘departed’ from the area and now the local Kiwi bird population is flourishing.
